Message If it is too high, you can get melt down. Too low, you might not have complete combustion. EGTs are good for bench marks. If you notice readings that are unusually high or low than normal, you can trouble shoot easier. Timing, a/f ratio, engine load, exhaust back pressure, outside temparatures affect the temp. With a V engine like ours. One in each bank will tell you if the banks are running evenly.
